Kenyan off-grid customers have something to smile about after Azuri, technologies unveiled a new 32-inch solar satellite TV system. Consumers of the pay-as-you-go TV product will be required to make Sh 129 daily payments.

The UK Solar firm said the system comes with four high brightness LED lights, mobile phone charging and a rechargeable torch and radio.

The firm is targeting rural off-grid consumers, noting that Kenya has about 10 million households, yet only 3.9 million have TVs.

“Azuri’s vision is one that sees a level playing field, where all consumers have the ability to benefit from modern products and services regardless of where they live,” said Azuri Chief Executive Simon Brans-field-Garth.
