Kenya has been named among top 20 global regions to visit this year. This is according to UK travel firm Kuoni. The list; which has Maldives in first position, shows Kenya ahead of Australia, Tanzania, the Seychelles and Spain.
The reports notes that travel operators are experiencing growing demand for Kenya as a tourist hub following the thawing of political temperatures and the eventful endorsement of a number of upscale hotels and safari tours.
Additionally, it highlights that Kenya’s tourism was supported by a host of high-level awards in 2017, comprising Africa’s leading luxury adventure destination at the World Luxury Hotel awards and Africa’s leading national park, the Maasai Mara, in addition to best safari destination at the World Travel Awards.
“It’s in this area that Kuoni has seen massive interest in Kenya, which rises from 23rd to 19th placed destination,” as noted by its 2018 trends report.
Despite Mara being the most admired, Kuoni is optimist about other tourist locations such as Amboseli, Tsavo and Samburu. Most preffered lodges according to Kuoni holidaymakers include; elephant Bedroom camp close to Ewaso Nyiro river in Samburu, and the Luxury Finch Hattons tented camp on the southwestern side of Tsavo West National Park.
