Nyanza regional Police commander Noah Mwivanda has be reassigned just under five months after taking charge of the region’s security.
He has since been moved to Eastern region in a similar position, taking over from the regional Police Chief Dr. Vincent Makokha.
Lydia Ligami who has been the Eastern Region police commander will replace him and will oversee the six Nyanza counties.
The reshuffle comes less than a week after the Nyanza regional Commissioner James Kianda was transferred by the President’s office.
The shakeup saw Kilifi county commissioner Magu Mutindika promoted and confirmed as the new Nyanza Regional police chief.
Kianda has since assumed the Nairobi regional commander position replacing Wilson Njega who was reassigned to assume the secretary for interior security in the Office of the President.
