Kenyans thirst for energy drinks has received a boost after consumer goods maker Bidco launched its new energy drink dubbed Reaktor. The drink which comes in a 300ml bottle will retail at Sh 70 per bottle.
The energy drinks segment has for a long time been dominated by foreign brands such as Red bull and monster. Bidco says it wants to disrupt this market with the launch of its new drink. The family owned business has in the recent past embarked on a product diversification drive to create new revenue streams in the wake of increased competition.
The new drink was launched during the return of the national sevens seniors team – which is sponsored by Bidco Africa. Speaking during the unveil event, Bidco Africa director Chris Diaz said they were excited at the team’s prospects ahead of the IRB series assignments on April 6.
“We stand with the team irrespective of their performance awhile also welcoming the return of the senior players,” Diaz said.
The players will receive the newly launched Reaktor energy drink, which Bidco said is a premium formulation of ingredients to provide energy to muscles and brain.
