Investigators in Narok town are probing an incident in which a junior state officer died in mysterious circumstances in a lodging while in the company of lover.

Sub-country police commander Fredrick Kinaipei, said the incident occurred at night when the man and the woman were asleep.

“We received information at around 6:30 am that a man had died in a hotel room at Oloropil Plaza within the town centre. Our officers responded and found the naked body of the man in bed while a woman believed to be his girlfriend was also within the same room,” noted Kinaipei

A pack of unused condoms, a bottle of whisky, soda and a bottle of energy drink were some of the items that were found when policed combed the room. This is according to the Sub-county police boss.

Police reports indicated that the body didn’t have any visible wounds and that the scene had no sign of scuffle among the two persons.

Before his demise the deceased recognised as Edmond Parseen was said to be attached at the ministry of industrialisation in Kisii County. Police reports indicated that he booked the hotel room in the evening at 6pm the day before when she was joined by his lover.

“We are holding the girlfriend to assist us in the investigation. We would like to know how they knew each other, how they met and what transpired before he died. We want to rule out any foul play if any,’’Kinaipei said.

Already the police have said that they have started investigations into the incident and are relying on the medical report on the components of the drink he had partaken.

Felix Nkoyo who is the uncle to the deceased noted that the deceased was inaccessible on his mobile from Friday only for him to discover that he was no more.

“He (deceased) was like my son. I brought him up, educated him and even linked him to the job he was doing. I rang him Friday but his phone was off. I was not worried because I knew he could call later. I was however shocked to receive a call that he had been found dead in a hotel room.’’ Said Nkoyo.

According to Mr Nkoyo, the lady who was found together with his deceased nephew was actually their neighbour, though he was not aware they had an affair.

The body of the late Edmond has since been transferred to Narok County Hospital mortuary waiting a post-mortem assessment.
