A 50 year old bishop accessed of sexually abusing his 12 year old step daughter has been arrested by police. The suspect committed the crime while her mother had travelled.

Reports indicate that the man was arrested after a medical assessment that established that the school going girl had been defiled.

The class seven pupil said that the man who happens to be her step dad had been abusing her a number of times while her mother had gone for a funeral last week.

According to the minor the incident between Wednesday and Friday in their Komuoyo village in Kasewe A sub-location.

It is reported that the mother questioned her after observing she had walking problems.

The bishop was arrested on Wednesday.

Intimidations

Sources say that the woman and the suspect had been threatened by the suspect telling the woman he would chase her away and cane her daughter if they ever spoke.

But, a neighbour who was made aware of the incident after the woman disclosed in her notified authorities who immediately started investigations before arresting the priest.

Jack Obuo, the Rachuonyo East Deputy County commissioner confirmed arresting the man.

“They were both taken to hospital for medical examination which revealed that thegirl was defiled. The suspect was taken to Othoro police station,” Mr Obuo Said.

According to Mr. Obuo the suspect will be arraigned in court this week.
