Antony Wafula, the late Bondo Police Commander died of COVID-19, this is according to postmorteum results as confirmed by Siaya Governor Cornell Rasanga.
Mr Rasanga noted while attending a Senate Public Accounts Committee hearing on Thursday that samples obtained from the body of the police boss indicated that he had coronavirus.
He further noted that two other officers in his administration had also contracted the virus after testing positive.
The late Bondo OCPD was laid to rest at his Matunda, Kakamega home on Thursday afternoon.
He had previously been ferried to the Bondo Sub county Hospital at night, after experiencing breathing and fever issues where he later died, sometime around 1 am.
Sources indicated that the late police boss had visited Nairobi last week and it was after returning to Bondo that he started complaining of chest pains and fever.
Everyone and who came into contact with Mr. Wafula have since been advised to take COid-19 test this includes all police officers at Bondo police station.
